Meet Maple – Sweet, Loyal, and Ready for a Fresh Start Maple is a very sweet Australian Shepherd mix who recently came to the shelter when her family went through a divorce. She’s now hoping to find a new home where she can feel safe, loved, and part of the family again. Maple is described as loving and protective, the kind of dog who bonds closely with her people and wants to be by your side. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night, and she will bark or whine when she needs to go outside, which helps her communicate when it’s potty time. Like many smart herding breeds, Maple does have one habit her new family will need to help her work on — she has been known to chase or follow the family’s car when it leaves. With patience, supervision, and some training, this is something that can be improved as she settles into a stable routine. Maple will ride in the car, but she feels most comfortable when she’s crated during the ride. Once she knows she’s secure, she does much better traveling. What Maple really wants is a family to love and protect, a place where she can feel safe, and people who will give her the patience and care she deserves as she adjusts to her new life. This lovable Goldendoodle came to us when his family went through a divorce, and now he’s ready to start a new chapter with a forever family who will love him as much as he loves everyone else. Buddy is described as super loving, playful, and wonderfully goofy. He absolutely lives for attention and will happily soak up all the pets and hugs you’re willing to give. If cuddles were a sport, Buddy would be a champion! He has lived with dogs, a cat, and people of all ages, so he’s used to being part of a busy household. Buddy is also crate trained and will whine when he needs to go outside, which is a great start for house manners. Like many young doodles, Buddy is still a bit of a chewing puppy, so he’ll need a family that’s patient and willing to continue working with him on indoor manners and training. Duke is a big, handsome German Shepherd mix with an even bigger heart. This 108-pound gentle giant came to the shelter after his owner sadly passed away, and his wife was no longer able to manage his size. It’s been a big change for Duke, but he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family of his own. Duke spent most of his life in an outdoor lot, so he hasn’t had much experience living inside a home yet. Because of this, his new family will need to be patient and willing to help him learn the ropes of indoor living. With time, consistency, and love, Duke has so much potential to become an amazing companion. Despite the changes in his life, Duke remains friendly, playful, and affectionate, even with children. He already knows the command “sit” and enjoys interacting with people. For such a big guy, he really just wants attention and time with his humans. Duke has not lived with other animals.
